THE HEADQUARTERS · THE MALTZ BUILDING · 2016

A printing-district building where trees grow up through the atrium

Squarespace moved its global headquarters into the historic Maltz Building in 2016, a building put up for Manhattan's book, periodical and newspaper publishers. A+I found that employees wanted the feel of an “off-site” without leaving the office, so parts of the space look like a hotel or a home. Large planters hold trees that rise through the central atrium, curved glass meeting rooms ring the floors, and there is a roof deck and bar.
