Inside, Gwathmey Siegel designed the main lobby, executive offices, dining and meeting rooms and boardrooms on the 40th and 41st floors, and dining for 500 people on the lower level. A newer renovation designed by Gensler replaced parts of the original facade while the building stayed fully occupied.

    • 2.2M sq ft headquarters building, 200 Vesey Street
    • 20+ weeks fully paid parental leave, all parents
    • 91% of surveyed colleagues would recommend Amex (2025)

Office floors have been refreshed floor by floor under the company's BlueWork program — new carpet, paint and branded graphics, upgraded private offices, open areas, lounges and reception. In 2031 colleagues are due to move into a 55-floor tower by Foster + Partners at 2 World Trade Center with more than an acre of terraces and gardens.

    • 11 floors of The Spiral, for about 2,500 colleagues
    • 12 weeks paid parental leave (U.S.)

BIG designed The Spiral so that every office floor opens onto its own terrace, and the terraces wind up the 66-story tower like “a 1000-foot-tall vine”. Double-height spaces and grand staircases can link neighbouring floors. On Pfizer's floors there are four coffee bars and cafés, a two-story fitness center, a wellness studio, seven “renew rooms” and a 12,000 sq ft terrace on the 7th floor next to the cafeteria, where people can eat, perch on stepped seating or sit on sofas looking at the Hudson River.

Headquarters in a 50-story marble tower on the corner of Central Park, with a boardroom ceiling inspired by bird nests.

    • 20 weeks paid parental leave (U.S.)
    • 81% of employees are women

Goldman Sachs · New York, New York

One 45-story tower for every New Yorker at the firm: a stainless-steel-and-glass headquarters that curves toward the Hudson River, with six trading floors and a two-story sky lobby.

    • 2.1M sq ft headquarters (≈ 195,096 m²)
    • 45 stories, 740 ft tall
    • 9,000+ people work in the tower

200 West Street was designed to consolidate the firm's scattered New York offices in a single building. Its sides follow the two street grids of Lower Manhattan, while the west façade sweeps in a curve toward the Hudson River; three setbacks step the stainless-steel-and-glass skin down as it rises. Inside are six large trading floors, a two-story sky lobby halfway up, conference centers, a fitness center and a cafeteria. Unusually wide 10-ft curtain-wall panels let daylight deep into the offices, and a glass-roofed walkway lined with shops runs through the block between Brookfield Place (the former World Financial Center) and the north of Battery Park City.

    • 947,000 sq ft office space at 731 Lexington Avenue
    • 26 weeks fully paid parental leave (primary caregiver, U.S.)

BlackRock · New York, New York

A glass-walled “Central Park” staircase at the heart of 15 floors in Hudson Yards, which put about 4,000 New York employees under one roof for the first time.

    • 15 floors at 50 Hudson Yards, moved in from Dec 2022
    • 16 weeks paid parental leave, primary caregiver (U.S.)
    • 1 room → 24,900 8 founders in 1988 → employees in 2025

NBBJ designed BlackRock's floors around a “Central Park”: collaborative spaces gathered around a glass-enclosed staircase that runs through the middle of the floor. Each office floor also has two “Public Plazas” with food and informal seating. Colours alternate by floor — green for focus, blue for alertness, orange for activation — and a 405-seat auditorium with curved seating looks out toward a nearby park. Raised floors with underfloor air and power let BlackRock move whole departments over a weekend.

Datadog · New York, New York

From one full floor of the New York Times Building in 2016 to about 395,000 sq ft above Times Square.

    • 97,000 → 395,000 sq ft at HQ, 2019 → 2025
    • 10 free mental-health appointments a year
    • 15% discount on the employee stock purchase plan

In 2016 Datadog moved from a Flatiron-district office to a full floor high in the New York Times Building in Midtown. Its own team planned the kitchen down to the coffee station — testing water fountains across Manhattan by timing how fast they filled a bottle. The headquarters has since grown to about 395,000 sq ft, and in 2023 the top two floors and rooftop were scanned for a new office plan and fit-out.

MongoDB · New York, New York

A 38th-floor headquarters on Broadway with sweeping city views, where new parents get at least 20 weeks of paid leave.

    • 106,230 sq ft at the New York HQ
    • 20 weeks paid parental leave, at least
    • 5,636 employees, Jan 31, 2026

MongoDB's headquarters is on the 38th floor of 1633 Broadway, the Paramount Plaza office tower in Midtown Manhattan. The company leased 106,230 rentable sq ft there in December 2017, under a lease that runs to December 2029. When SPECTOR was hired to expand MongoDB's footprint in the building, the company chose a large open floor plan with sweeping views of the city and many collaborative spaces; furniture, furnishings and brand graphics separate open work areas from smaller, more intimate meeting spaces.

Trees rising through the atrium, a private rooftop and dogs at work — inside a historic printing-district building in Manhattan.

    • 166,088 sq ft of headquarters (≈ 15,430 m²)
    • Up to 20 weeks paid family leave
    • 2× hack weeks a year

Squarespace moved its global headquarters into the historic Maltz Building in 2016, a building put up for Manhattan's book, periodical and newspaper publishers. A+I found that employees wanted the feel of an “off-site” without leaving the office, so parts of the space look like a hotel or a home. Large planters hold trees that rise through the central atrium, curved glass meeting rooms ring the floors, and there is a roof deck and bar.
