A headquarters that shares its site with a fab — and a research center built like an ark

TSMC's head office sits beside Fab 12A at No. 8, Li-Hsin Road 6, in the science park where the company was founded in 1987. Every fab has a cafeteria, juice bar, coffee shop, bakery, 7-Eleven and bookstore, a 24-hour wellness center with physicians, nurses and psychologists, and a gym; the TSMC Sports Center adds a 25-metre heated pool and a sauna. A few kilometres away, the Global R&D Center by KRIS YAO | ARTECH puts its offices around a 160-metre-long atrium crossed by sky bridges, with a water feature, timber panels and natural light from above.
