A café, a bar and a park on the 27th floor
Cybozu calls its Tokyo office a “Big Hub for Teamwork”: a place to gather people and information in a company where most work is remote. The 27th floor greets visitors with three consultation cafés themed Bird, Forest and Sky, seminar rooms, a bar and a kitchen; the work floors have few partitions and free-address desks. In 2022 the 27th-floor work area was rebuilt for hybrid work under the theme “Cybozu DOWNTOWN”: back-street-like paths, rounded walls and furniture, and base colours that change with each area's purpose.

In 2022 the 27th-floor work area was rebuilt for hybrid work under the theme “Cybozu DOWNTOWN”, with back-street-like paths, rounded walls and furniture, and colours that change with each area's purpose.

Cybozu adds an incentive equal to 100% of what members put into the employee shareholding association, up to 10% of monthly salary. 89.1% had joined in 2025.

Why people stay: what Cybozu itself says
Turnover once reached 28% around 2005, with farewell parties every week. After years of work-style reform it was 4.36% in 2025.
Members tell their manager the hours and place they want; the manager offers role, work style and pay, and both agree. Everyone's work style is visible to the whole company.

- 1997 A 2DK flat in Matsuyama — where one founder also lived
Cybozu was founded on August 8, 1997 in Matsuyama, Ehime, the hometown of Toru Takasuka. Takasuka was 30; Masanori Hata and Yoshihisa Aono were 26. The office was a two-room apartment, and one of the rooms was Hata's home.

To hire more people the company moved to a big city: Hata and Aono went to Osaka first, head-office functions moved to Chayamachi, Kita-ku, in December 1998, and all functions followed in March 1999.

A Tokyo office opened in May 2000, Cybozu listed on TSE Mothers in August, and in December 2000 head-office functions moved to the Tokyo office. By 2015 the Tokyo office was in Koraku, Bunkyo-ku.

After a 2020 survey of 456 employees and a company-wide debate, Cybozu kept the office's size and rebuilt one-third of the work area, the 27th floor, opening it on August 8, 2022. KOKUYO designed the project “Cybozu TeamHub Tokyo” under the theme “Cybozu DOWNTOWN”.
