No fixed desks, a forest floor and a brand on every level
Gensler redesigned the Shiodome headquarters around the idea of an “intersection of creativity”: fixed desks were removed for activity-based working, and mirrors, make-up tables, a product lounge and a mock-up store were put inside the office. Floors for the brands alternate with corporate floors around the atrium, each in a brand's own look. On the 11th floor, “ELEVEN”, a forest-like space with a nature aquarium, a green wall of moss and ferns and a wisteria arcade is set apart for new ideas and town halls; the 12th-floor cafeteria “ZEBRA” has a pantry where staff can cook, and the 4th floor holds a content studio for live broadcasts.

ELEVEN: a forest on the 11th floor
Designed with green-design studio ryokuensha, ELEVEN has a nature aquarium, a green wall of moss and ferns and a wisteria arcade, and is used for new ideas and town halls.

Fixed desks were removed; mirrors, make-up tables, a product lounge and a mock-up store sit inside the office, and brand floors alternate with corporate floors.

Shiseido moved its head office to Shiodome Tower, 1-6-2 Higashi-shimbashi, in May 2003.

Shiseido moved its headquarters functions into a new rented tower at 1-6-2 Higashi-shimbashi: 40,548 m² for about 1,900 people, designed and built by Kajima, with office gardens on even floors, a 12th-floor cafeteria and a 21st-floor product gallery. In use from May 2003.
