THE HEADQUARTERS · WÄRTSILÄ HELSINKI CAMPUS · 2018

A seaside office with no fixed desks and a café on the top floor

In 2018 Wärtsilä moved its Helsinki people into a 2009 office complex in Salmisaari and rebuilt it inside, leaving only the load-bearing structure. Interior designer Fyra replaced private offices with spaces for different kinds of work: the first two floors are meeting rooms, rooms with a sea view are for team projects and the other end of each floor is for quiet work. Café Femma takes up the whole fifth floor, a dark 250 m² Experience Centre beside the reception lets visitors tour a power plant or a cruise ship in virtual reality, and old model ships from the company's history are used as room dividers.
