THE HEAD OFFICE · 40, RUE DE SÈVRES · 2016

A 17th-century hospital turned into offices around eight courtyards

The “Hospital for the Incurables” was built from 1634 in the shape of a double cross on either side of a listed chapel, around eight courtyards. After it closed as the Laennec Hospital in 2000, Kering restored it from 2010 to 2016: Benjamin Mouton, Chief Architect of France's historical monuments, led the restoration, Frédéric Druot turned the rooms into workspaces with good daylight and acoustics, and Pierre Yovanovitch remodelled a small pavilion into a reception, work and meeting space. More than half the site is gardens, replanted by Philippe Raguin from old drawings, with no chemical products and five beehives.

  • 17,200 m² (≈ 185,140 sq ft)
  • Begun 1634, architect Christophe Gamard

  • 5 beehives
  • BREEAM In-Use “Excellent” (2018)
  • Shared with Balenciaga's head office
