THE HEAD OFFICE · NIHONBASHI, TOKYO

ITOKI DESIGN HOUSE TOKYO: a head office you can visit

ITOKI calls it more than a showroom: it is the head office, and visitors watch employees at work. Opened in October 2018 as ITOKI TOKYO XORK, it brought four scattered Tokyo offices together on floors 11–13 of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya Mitsui Building, built around Activity Based Working: no fixed desks, with spaces for solo focus, pair work and group work, and quality standards from WELL. Each floor has since been rebuilt — 12F in 2022, 13F in 2023 around “ABW × comfort” with wild-looking planting and wooden “yagura” frames, 11F in 2024 — and in 2026 the 12th floor again, from data on where the best-performing people actually work. There are tiered presentation rooms, a library, a café and a big shared table.

  • ≈ 7,200 m² on 3 floors
  • 934 seats · 1,300 people
  • Activity-based working
  • Designed in-house by ITOKI
